Challenge
As of July 5, 32,951 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Afghanistan, with 864 deaths, though the actual number is expected to be far higher.
Afghanistan’s health infrastructure was already overwhelmed, with insufficient equipment, hospital beds, and tests to properly address the outbreak in a country with 37 million people.

The following are the key messages for the AlemHealth Online COVID-19 Triage Centre campaign:
AlemHealth’s COVID Triage Centre will allow you to talk with an actual doctor in the privacy of your home and get the advice you need in a timely manner, free of charge.
Simple and easy to use symptom checker app that provides tailored COVID-19 advice and education based on patient’s symptomatic data.
AlemHealth’s COVID Triage Centre offers screening and triage from licensed physicians trained to an international standard.
Impact And Results
Impact: Increase Afghans’ access to reliable medical information about COVID-19 and reduce the burden on health facilities in Afghanistan by enabling households to access medical information remotely.
Outcome: To drive demand for use of AlemHealth’s COVID-19 Triage Centre.
Outputs: From 16 July – 16 August 2020, the Marketing Campaign resulted in 3120 new application registrations and 1,408 Triage Tickets issued via the Triage Call Centre.
