Tamar Zalk, MAGENTA Associate

Tamar is an SBC expert in strategy, program design, and strategic communications with 15 years' experience working in fragile and conflict-affected countries across the Middle East and Central Asia. She has delivered communications solutions to a diverse range of governments and organisations, bringing a high level of expertise and knowledge to their programmes.

Tamar has led strategic development and deployment of social and behavioral change initiatives on issues including public health, good governance, elections, youth engagement, and women’s empowerment in both conflict and post-conflict settings. Her client base includes Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The USG, HMG, UN and a number of governmental and non-governmental entities.

Tamar holds a Masters from Georgetown University, and received the National Security Education Program’s Boren Fellowship. She is proficient in Arabic and Spanish.
